Mr. Jones is always drinking because he lost one of his lawsuits cases. he has been drinking so much that he start to forget his responsibilities. he forgets to feed some of the animals. they are so hungry that they break in to the shed with food in it. The next day when Mr jones awakes he and his workers realized what happened so he beats his cow. Moses the raven is going around spreading lies about where you go after you die.

Old major has died and the animals are going wild. Now they feel free and believe that they can do whatever they want but, there is a rude awakening. The animals are thinking of a master plan on how to take over the farm from Mr. Jones. the two pigs are spredin animalism but they dont understand what it really is.

Mr. Jones and his ilk have been scamming the animals for many of years. they have been taking everything from them such as the chickens eggs the cows milk. the animals never get rewarded for their labor that they produce.

Still in the first chapter. the animals are talking about how when they are born they are slaves. humans put them to work as soon as they can walk. They only feed them just enough to have for one day.

The beginning is about the major and his animals. the major is drunk and goes to bed without locking up the animals correctly. the animals are having a conversation about the way humans treat animals.
